Ron Starman

Ron is a Director at EWA-Canada where he is responsible for the Consulting practice. Ron returned to EWA-Canada in 2013 after seven years away gaining senior and executive management experience in the oil and gas industry. Ron has over 25 years' project management experience that includes employment in a multi-national engineering firm, the Royal Canadian Air Force, a leading Western Canadian electrical and instrumentation services provider and EWA-Canada.

Notable accomplishments include directing EWA-Canada's vulnerability assessment / penetration testing team for three years, representing EWA-Canada as its Western Canadian Regional Manager for EWA-Canada for six years, completing numerous client based IT security related threat risk assessments for clients, conducting security evaluations for products undergoing formal ISO 15408 (Common Criteria) certification in our Common Criteria Test Lab, provision of on-going on and off-site technical support to the federal government's Communications Security Establishment over a five year period, and providing two years of on-site engineering support to the Royal Australian Air Force in Canberra, Australia for a significant EW initiative for its fleet of aircraft.

Ron is a graduate of the University of Alberta (B.Sc. Electrical Engineering) and has been professionally engaged in various facets of information security for most of his working career.
